Release, Refill & Receive: For Parents & Caregivers
First Sundays of the Month – 10am-12pm
The Trees: 1701 Pleasant Green, Durham
Sep. 7, Oct 6, Nov 2, Dec7
September topic: Rhythm
Come for one or all of these incredibly special mornings. Our first hour will be TLC for YOU. Breath work, all levels yoga movement, deep rest meditation… all to help you release stress and refill your energy!
Our second hour will be devoted to receiving support for the incredible work that you do! I’ll be bringing in perspectives, techniques and practices from Simplicity Parenting and Montessori methods for you to try on. I’ll be drawing on decades of experience working with children – you can read about my background here. Each Sunday will be a different topic.
In September we will look at the Simplicity Parenting concept of Rhythm. This is one I turn to again and again to help prevent overwhelm and meltdown – for everyone in the family! You’ll leave with an understanding of the concept and a small do-able change that you have created to try on this month. Parenting is not a one size fits all practice, so these topics will be explored with respect to the awesome uniqueness of each family.
This is for adults only… but parents with babies that are not mobile yet are welcome to bring their infants.
$50/ Drop in, $160 / all four mornings * Refunded if given 24 hour notice.
For Students enrolled in one or more of these mornings I am also offering a $20 discount on my Parenting Coaching sessions for the Fall.
Future Topics include:
October Simplicity Parenting: “Soul Fevers” concept to help understand difficult behavior… and how we can help.
November Montessori concept: Follow the Child as a way to support your child’s learning, development and wellbeing
December Simplicity Parenting: Filtering out as a way to reduce anxiety.
I’d never done yoga before taking Olynda’s class, but her approach makes it easy for someone like me to pick up the motions and reasoning behind each of the positions. Her encouragement and down to earth nature made the classes both fun and relaxing, regardless of whether I could do all the poses correctly the first time.
